| Gender equality is one of the many Sustainable Development Goals listed by the
United Nations which is also the mainstream in the 2020-2024 Rencana
Pembangunan Jangka Menengah Nasional (RPJMN), making it an integral part
of Indonesia's development agenda going forward. In November 2020, The Gecko
Project and Mongabay released a documentary film entitled Tanah Ibu Kami
which raises the discourse about women being involved in social movements.
Their identity as practitioners of journalism means that both have power in terms
of the production and reproduction of women's discourse.
